Financial Planning

There is no one-size-fits-all financial plan. At Money Plans, we tailor our planning services to each stage of your life, helping you to achieve your short- and long-term goals and secure your financial future.

Planning for Growing Families

Growing families often juggle short- and medium-term needs with their long-term goals. We help these clients to prioritize their wants and needs, without losing sight of the bigger picture.

Our affordable service for growing families helps them to achieve a balanced, healthy financial life. We work with clients on their pressing concerns, while also identifying areas that need attention. Areas we evaluate include cash flow, retirement, investments, taxes, education savings, insurance, debt repayment, savings and estate planning.

We’ve helped growing families address a range of questions, including:

  • How should we keep track of our expenses?
  • Are we saving enough?
  • How much and what kind of insurance should we carry?
  • How can we save for college without ruining our retirement?
  • How will a job change affect our other goals?
  • Can we afford to move?
  • What type of estate planning do we need to protect our children?

Planning for Those Focused on Retirement

This interactive session addresses the specifics of your situation while preparing you for a comfortable retirement. While the resulting plan will focus on your immediate concerns and goals, it will also provide clear strategies for the following:

  • Simplifying your financial life
  • Planning cash flows for wants and needs
  • Deciding when to stop working
  • Determining how much more to save, and where to save it
  • Deciding when to begin taking Social Security and pension
  • Replacing income in retirement
  • Protecting your assets
  • Planning for longevity
  • Protecting your lifestyle after a spouse dies

Planning for Retirees Who Need a “Do-Over”

Life can take unexpected turns, derailing even the best-laid plans and setting the stage for a planning “do-over.” Turns can result from changes in health, adjustments in income or cashflow, the death of a spouse, a job offer and so on. Whatever the cause, they present a need to re-evaluate your situation and goals and adjust your course.

We’ll review your situation to fully understand your goals and needs, and then come up with a plan. We'll study various strategies to improve your situation and simplify your finances. And our planning will incorporate flexibility so that you can handle unexpected events in the future.

Taking the Next Step

The next step in the planning process involves using the information we’ve compiled to develop an investment plan. Our Wealth Management service for portfolios of $300,000 or more provides ongoing money management plus ongoing planning and coordination with active retirement plans. We also offer Investment Review and Design for accounts with less than $300,000.
